Annual Meeting Recap

Bethel celebrated all that God had done in 2016 during our Annual Meeting on January 29. The fellowship hall was filled with the smell of food and the sound of conversation as Bethel Youth served those who attended the dinner portion of the evening. Pastor Al reported that the youth were blessed by the generosity of those who gave and brought in more donations than any other annual meeting fundraiser dinner. These funds will help with the cost of the upcoming youth mission trips.

The annual meeting kicked off with a time of worship followed by a highlight video of ministry in 2016. Watch the highlight video below.

Ten new members were welcomed: Steven & Lynette Tonneson and Thor & Lillian Foss transfered their membership from other CLB congregations. Brittany Christenson, Jeff Horak & Debbie Kaminski, Todd & Nancy DeGroot, and Laura Weber were welcomed as members.

LaWayne Rogness gave the treasurer’s report, praising God for the incredible generosity in giving. The elder board recommended that a large portion of the remaining funds go to the Church of the Lutheran Brethren and Hillcrest Academy who are partners in ministry and are behind in giving with the end of their fiscal years approaching in the next few months.
You can grab a hard copy of the annual report that includes financial details and overviews at the Connection Center or the church office.

Ministry Teams and Elder Board nominations were all voted in. Please welcome Pete McKnight, Eric Ewan, and Doug Walvatne as active elders. Richard Risbrudt was voted in as an incumbent.

The Bagirmi Ministry and Battle Lake campus reports were exciting and encouraging. Nathanael and Carrie and family (last name removed for online privacy) will return to Chad in May and join the Chadian family that is beginning their ministry as missionaries to the Bagirmi People. Bethel Battle Lake is becoming “home” to many local people and the youth group is thriving with 40 kids each week. Pray for A.J. & Elise Smith who are serving as youth leaders for the Battle Lake campus.

The 2017 budget was presented and approved by the congregation.

We encourage you to flip through the annual report below and/or pick up a hard copy at the Connection Center or church office.

Thank you for an incredible 2016 and we look forward to what God has planned for 2017.
