Bethel Church believes that it is important to belong to the church family at different levels. In public worship with the larger body, in mid-sized groups, such as Sunday School or special events and also in small groups of 10-20 people of all ages. This gives us opportunities to grow spiritually, both personally and corporately.
We also understand that God is working in each of our lives in different ways. There are several different types of groups going on at Bethel Church.
Bethel has organized 13 small groups to study the Book of Job during the season of Lent.
The groups will be meeting after Ash Wednesday, March 6th through Palm Sunday, April 14th (6 weeks)
Life Groups are about “doing life together.” Each group looks a little bit different depending on their demographics. Life Groups value multiplication through raising up new leaders to start new Life Groups. Though each group has its own culture, there are values that stay the same.
The life of these groups are made up of three non-negotiables:
- Eating together (potluck style dinner)
- studying a book of the Bible together and a time of prayer
- mission together (local and international)
The “doing life together” vision for these groups includes group activities and opportunities outside the “meetings.” These groups have no end date, encouraging them to continue to grow and multiply, creating many close-knit communities in Bethel Church, each with an outward vision of God’s Mission in our communities and world.
Currently, there are three active Life Groups:
Hosts: Mike & Beth Thorson
(Volunteering, special events & seasonal gatherings)
The various activities are done together with children as a family.

Marriage Small Group
This group will study “Love & Respect” by Emerson Eggerichs
(Sundays, 3:00 PM / Bethel Fergus Falls)
This marriage small group will meet on a weekly basis, studying the “Love & Respect” curriculum.
The premise of this study is that communication between a husband and wife is often frustrated because of the vastly different ways in which men and women perceive love. Women are wired to need unconditional love and men need to feel unconditionally respected. Revitalize the love in your marriage!
